About Claire
Claire Min is a Hawai‘i-based visual artist working in abstract realism through oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas. Her work reflects a deep connection to nature and a lifelong search for balance, peace, and beauty.
Art first sparked Claire’s curiosity in childhood with simple oil paint-by-number kits, planting the seed for a creative journey that would unfold over decades. After earning her nursing degree and spending many years as both a registered nurse and a business owner in Hawai‘i’s plastics industry, she eventually found her way back to painting—a long-awaited return to her creative roots.
As her children grew older and she had more spare time, Claire began with decorative painting, which gradually evolved into a more serious study of fine art. She learned plein air landscape painting with Mark Brown and later explored palette knife techniques under the mentorship of George Eguchi and Ed Furuike. These experiences deepened her appreciation for texture, color, and the expressive power of simplicity.
Claire’s studies at the Milan Art Institute’s Mastery Program further expanded her practice, encouraging exploration across mediums and helping her refine her personal style and artistic voice. “World Peace One Mind at a Time” is the mission of the personal development company Claire was affiliated with for many years, and its philosophy continues to influence her outlook and creative process. She believes each person carries the responsibility to cultivate peace within their own lives, and that art can be a powerful means to inspire this harmony.
Today, her paintings blend the organic beauty of the natural world with abstract elements that invite reflection, serenity, and emotional connection.
